The LEGO Effect
The Al Age opens up opportunity. Do you have a plan?
the LEGO Group have reported a record breaking first half of 2026, with revenue + 21% year-on-year to DKK 41.9 billion ($6.5 billion) and operating profit +22%. Incredible. These results are also counter-intuitive to modern culture. Kids are on their phones more, so are adults.
LEGO have doubled down on play, and with a smart approach, have attracted more adults thanks to partnerships with Formula One & FIFA.

My own work has included deep research into the future of work. Creativity will become more important in leadership and activities that build imagination help do that. Think reading & play.
A clear opportunity for LEGO to go even bigger on in my view. Huge. Any good leader needs to be asking 'what's our advantage?' and aiming for the LEGO effect, as I'II temporarily call it.

After many years in retail and consumer brands - Sainsbury's and Superdrug, Unilever to Diageo - I automatically look at the changing landscape. And in every client business Iโve worked with on AI Transformation across sectors, thereโs been a unique direction to take. Many with potential new revenue streams to boot.
Thinking Al is solely a technology or productivity conversation misses the point. Get strategic and be ambitious.
Aim for the LEGO effect.
